Projects

Projects is where the work you sold gets delivered. A project holds the people on it, its milestones, its tasks and the conversation about it.

Projects

Create one from Projects → All Projects, or from a won deal so what you sold and what you deliver stay linked. The project carries its customer, its dates, its budget and the team on it.

Progress is worked out from the tasks underneath it rather than typed in by hand, so the percentage on the list is the state of the work rather than somebody's optimism. Milestones mark the points that matter to the customer.

People on the project are notified when it's created and when they're added.

Who's on a project

Being on a project is separate from your workspace role. The same person can run one project and do the work on another.

RoleWhat they see
ManagerRuns the project. Restructures it, adds people, moves dates.
ReviewerReviews and approves completed work.
CollaboratorDoes the work and updates their own tasks.

Tasks

Tasks sit on a board by status, and you drag them across as the work moves. Each one has an assignee, a due date and the project it belongs to.

Projects → My Taskscollects everything assigned to you across every project, plus anything created from a lead or a deal in CRM. It's the one list to start the day on. You're notified when a task is assigned to you, and again on the day it's due.

Reviewing and approving

Finished work doesn't just vanish off the board. A task that's done goes to the project's reviewer, who rates it and approves it or sends it back. That gives you a record of quality per person over time rather than a vague sense of who's reliable.

Discussion

Every project has its own thread. Type @ to mention a teammate and they're notified, in the app and by email if they've asked for that.

Health and the daily brief

OSLO watches each project for the things that usually go wrong first: overdue tasks, work nobody has touched in a while, dates that have slipped past a milestone. Projects at risk are flagged, and one that's gone quiet is marked stale.

Managers get a daily brief covering the projects they run and what needs attention. Everything else stays in the app so your inbox holds one summary rather than a stream of alerts.

Sharing with your client

If the client portal is switched on for your workspace, you can give a customer a login to the projects you choose. They see the board and the tasks you've shared, and nothing else in your workspace.

  • A separate conversation. Client messages are their own thread. Your internal discussion stays internal, and neither can leak into the other by accident.
  • They can ask for work. A client request arrives with your team for triage rather than dropping straight onto the board as a task.
  • They can sign work off. Client approval is tracked separately from your own review, so a task can be done internally and still be waiting on the customer.

Turn the client features off and every client-facing surface disappears with them. Nobody is left looking at half a feature.

Who sees what

Owners and admins see every project. Anyone with people reporting to them sees theirs and their reports'. Everyone else sees the projects they're a member of. Where you have a choice, a selector at the top of the list switches between those views.
