Employees and logins
An employee record isn't an OSLO login. Someone can be an employee without being a user, and a user without being an employee. Your workshop staff can have payslips and leave without ever needing a seat in the CRM.
When you do want to give an employee access, you can invite them straight from the directory. An employee invited to the portal only sees their own corner of the app.
My Space
People → My Spaceis each person's own page: their profile and documents, their leave balance and requests, their payslips, company policies and holidays, their reviews, and their reimbursement claims.
It's the only People screen most of your team ever needs, and it's where they should be pointed on day one.
Leave and holidays
Leave runs on your workspace's leave year, which follows your financial year start rather than assuming January. Balances accrue against that year.
Someone requests leave from My Space. It goes to their approver, and both sides are notified on the decision. People → Leaveis the approver's queue and the record of what's been taken.
People → Holidays holds the company calendar and People → Policies the rules people are working to. Both are readable by everyone with People access, which saves the same question being asked every quarter.
Payslips and payroll
Payroll runs per period. OSLO works out the statutory pieces for Indian payroll, PF, ESI and professional tax, and takes loss of pay from approved unpaid leave, so the leave someone took actually reaches their payslip.
Published payslips appear in that person's My Space. They don't need to ask anyone for a copy.
Reimbursements
Staff claim work expenses from My Space: travel, food, whatever your policy allows. Attach the receipt, submit it, and it goes to an approver. It moves from submitted to approved or rejected with a note, then to paid, and the employee is notified at each step. A claim that's still waiting can be withdrawn.
Directory, org chart and departments
People → Directory is the full employee list. People → Departments groups them, and People → Org chart draws the reporting lines.
Those reporting lines do real work elsewhere in OSLO. They're what decides whose records a manager sees, and who a quote goes to for approval.
People → Announcements is for company-wide notices, readable by everyone with People access.
Performance
People → Performance runs review cycles with shared reviews and action items, so a conversation from six months ago is still there at the next one.
Who sees what
Access to People doesn't mean access to pay. Compensation and payroll are visible only to the people explicitly given that permission in Settings → Roles & Permissions. Everyone else with People access sees the directory, the org chart and the company information, and their own records in My Space.
Ask OSLO stays out of People altogether. It won't answer questions about pay, performance or why someone is on leave, whoever asks.
